Role
Partner channel
What do you not know about sales through partners until an invoice or a complaint arrives? You are accountable for a result produced by people outside your company, in their systems and at their pace.
Intro call
Four questions we would start with
What do you not know about a partner's deal until they tell you?
Usually everything. The partner works in their own CRM and shares what they choose - and you plan production or deliveries on the basis of what you heard.
Whose desk does a registration conflict end up on?
Two partners register the same client. That is not a technical problem, it is a political one - and it is usually settled after a few phone calls, with no written rule.
How quickly do you find out that a partner has stopped being active?
At the monthly report - or after a quarter, when somebody notices they have registered nothing in a long time. Until then nobody has called them, because there was no reason to.
How many times a month do you send a partner material they have already had?
The price list, a deck, a specification, the current version of the contract. If it is often, it means partners have nowhere to reach for it, so they reach for you.
We take over the admin, you keep the relationship
Handling registrations, watching activity, distributing material and calculating commission can be taken off the desk. Settling conflicts, talking to the partner and deciding to invest in them stay with you.
- A registration conflict is settled by a person. - The system shows who registered first, with what history, and what the rule says - but the decision has consequences in the relationship, so we do not hand it to an automation.
- The partner gets an answer fast, even when it is a no. - That is the thing which builds trust in a partner channel more strongly than the commission rate.
- Materials are there to be downloaded, not sent. - The partner reaches for the current version themselves, and you stop being an archive on call.
Scope
What can be taken off running a partner channel
Twenty example tasks. Each one has a human approval point. Below is a selection, and the scope we fit to your process.
Partner onboarding
- The list of onboarding steps with dates and ownership
- Checking the documents and certifications are complete
- A starter set of material for a new partner
- Reminders about onboarding steps not completed
- A summary of which partners are stuck at the same stage
Registrations and conflicts
- Taking in a registration with the required details
- Detecting a conflict with an existing registration or with your own sales (settled by: the channel manager)
- Confirming or refusing a registration within the agreed time (decision: the channel manager)
- Watching the expiry of a registration
- A register of how conflicts were settled, as material for a rule
Material and knowledge
- A repository of current material with version dates
- Notifying partners about a change to the price list or the offer
- Answers to partners' repeat questions about the product and the terms
- A summary of material nobody has ever reached for
- Preparing material for a specific partner opportunity (approved by: the channel manager)
Activity and settlements
- A signal when a partner has registered nothing for longer than agreed
- Partner activity over time, not only as a total
- Calculating commission under the contract terms and pointing out discrepancies
- Detecting transactions with no partner assigned despite a registration
- Material for the quarterly review with a partner (conclusions and the conversation: the channel manager)
A day's work
Today
- Registrations arrive by email and wait for somebody to look at them
- A conflict surfaces a week later, when the second partner is already working with the client
- You send material one piece at a time, in reply to phone calls
- You learn about silence from a partner at the quarterly report
- You calculate commission in a spreadsheet, settling discrepancies by email
- You prepare the review with a partner from scratch before every meeting
With AI assistance
- A registration comes in with the full details, and a conflict is visible straight away
- The answer to the partner goes out within the agreed time, including when it is a no
- The partner downloads the current material themselves, and you can see what they look for
- Silence on the partner's side reports itself as a signal, before it becomes a habit
- Commission is calculated from the contract terms, you settle the discrepancies
- The material for the review is waiting, ready; your work is the conclusions, not collecting the numbers
- Partner activity
silence is noticed before it becomes normal
no registrations is a signal rather than an empty space in a report
- Time to answer a registration
the partner knows where they stand within the agreed time
handling registrations stops competing with the rest of the channel manager's duties
- Transparent settlements
fewer disputes about commission
the calculation follows the recorded terms and shows where the difference arises
- Onboarding quality
partners do not get stuck at the same stage
it is visible where most of them stop and what that says about the process
We start with registrations, because that is the one moment a partner genuinely needs an answer from you.
- Step 1
The registration rule on paper
We write down what settles a conflict today: order, relationship, the size of the partner. It usually turns out the rule exists but has never been named - and that is why every case is a negotiation.
- Step 2
Handling registrations
Taking them in, detecting conflicts, answering within the agreed time. Settling stays with a person; what changes is that the decision is made fast and with the full picture.
- Step 3
Material and activity
A versioned repository and signals about silence. From this point the channel manager stops being an archive and starts being a manager.
- Step 4
Settlements
Commission and quarterly reviews. Deliberately last - because calculating commission without registrations in order only produces a faster dispute.
Common questions
Questions that come up at the first meeting
Does less work on partners mean fewer people for partners?
Most partner teams do not have too many hands, they have too little time for the partners who go quiet. Taking over registrations and settlements does not remove work - it moves it to where there is none today: to the partners who have registered nothing for a quarter and whom nobody has had time to call. How many people you put on that is your decision.
Does this fall under the AI Act?
Running a partner channel is not a high-risk use. The point to watch is elsewhere: registrations contain end clients' data, so it has to be settled who the controller of it is and on what basis it reaches you.

Next step
How many of your partners registered nothing last quarter?
We will show you what running a channel looks like when a registration gets an answer within the agreed time and silence from a partner is a signal rather than an empty space in a report.
